Here I am on the verge of writing a novel, but am stopped in my tracks. I am deep in thought. I can see the characters right in front of my eyes. They are alive and kicking like newborn babies , waiting for me to put them down in black and white on a piece of paper. I am in a dilemma. I know the beginning of the story. I know the end also. The middle part, the crux of the story escapes my thoughts. It refuses to reveal itself to me. It is an enigma. I think hard and try to conjure it up, but fail in my attempts. I leave it to its own. I wait for another day when it shall knock on my brain and show itself up. Till then I play the waiting game.
Amen. Your characters will speak up and say what needs to be said. You just need to write them down!

Maybe your characters will speak up when needed, once you’ve written what you have so far. 🤔
